The reaction takes place at temperatures of between 300°C and 700°C, whereby the surface remains below 400°C. The combustion temperatures are low enough to preclude the formation of any NOx (nitrogen oxides)

 

Complete combustion is ensured, with negligible quantities of CO (carbon monoxide) being produced.
